If you’re not learning, you’re not living. If you’re ready to add the skills & security of raising and harvesting your own poultry, reserve your spot for this hands-on workshop.
Join us as we walk you through each step of the process: dispatch, plucking, eviscerating, cooling, and packaging. We’ll talk equipment, timing, anatomy, and more!
In this class you’ll learn to slaughter, butcher, and package 20 or more birds from field to freezer.
You will also have the opportunity to:
- See how small-scale pasture-raised poultry can fit into your homestead
- Learn to slaughter on-site with a low-tech set up (very little equipment is required)
- Learn about chicken anatomy & how best to use all the parts
- Ask all the questions about all the things
- Take home a pasture-raised chicken you harvested yourself!
You’ll be equipped – and empowered – with the knowledge you need to enhance your food security and expand your self-sufficiency. You’ll know what you need to take the next step in your homestead plans.
And if you’re not planning on raising your own chickens yet (we may just convince you!), this is an incredible opportunity to increase your knowledge and appreciation of what it takes to raise and harvest wholesome nutrient-dense protein, following regenerative practices and working in harmony with nature.
Come connect with your farmer, learn a new skill, and mingle with like-minded people committed to wholesome food.
Class Fee: $100 per person; includes 3-4 hours of workshop & instruction, an ask-all-the-questions tour of our pastured poultry operation, an in-depth workbook including a recap of the techniques you’ve learned and the resources you’ll need, and one fresh-as-it-gets 4-5lb pasture-raised whole chicken.
